Hello, i want to use the momentary receiver and fob to turn on a light with a 5 second delay. what switch to i need to receive that 5v momentary and toggle on and off, also what component makes a delay on the switch? should i be using a toggle type instead? but i still need the delay...
the whole picture is this:
lamp that has pullchain on and off but also remote switch from pocket that turn on 5 seconds after press. thats the core any other functionality is a bonus.
Any advice and suggested materials are greatly appreciated. i would prefer not to use an arduino but am open to it.

Re: RF momentary controlled lightswitch with delayed on
The hardware you need to control a lamp depends on how you want to power it.
If you want to use wall power, your best choice will be to use a controlled relay like the Powerswitch Tail: https://www.adafruit.com/products/268 It's designed to be effective and safe.
You don't need a microcontroller to generate a triggered 5-second delay, just a 555 timer. Colin Mitchell over at Talking Electronics has a whole free ebook on using the 555:
