Please accept my apologies if I offended anyone. It wasn't my intention.

My post wasn't meant to be taken too seriously... In retrospect it probably wasn't in the best of tastes. Again sorry.

I look forward to seeing many more pictures of whatever makes you happy.

I actually thought there was quite a nice parallel between maxtim's work on his x0xi0 and that on his bikes: precision, attention to detail, high degree of craftsmanship, planning, etc... The skills necessary are the same to do a good job!

definitely putting this troublesome x0x into the same hammond case (well, the cheaper one without the walnut sides)... i couldn't close it up once I finished the mods :(

this is a good step-by-step, thanks

So, my last post was in July of 2009, when I was forced to shelve the project due to other interests and projects.

Now I am very excited to have some time to continue with this build!

I see that bcbox has a fantastic website set up for the x0xi0 now. In looking through the wealth of new info, pictures and sound clips my enthusiasm is peeking. The Full Installation Manual is now at R2.0, so I have to perform all of the necessary upgrades since I built from V1.0. I have sent an email to bcbox to verify the necessary upgrade path from Rev 1.0 to Rev 2.0.

I have re-painted the Hammond case metalwork with a few new coats of flat black paint after sanding out the couple of dings I had put into it while fitting the PCAs in my original fabrication.

I have wired all of the rear controls for remote mounting on the top of my custom enclosur:

I have started to wire the PCAs together. This is the current state of the PCAs on my workbench:

Next I will have to wait to order the new remote mixer PCA from bcbox and get the other changes implemented that are necessary to reflect the V2.0 x0xi0 design.

While waiting for V2.0 parts I think I will continue with the paint work on my custom enclosure.

Cheers :)

Hi Isak,

Thanks for the ups.....

I have just finished masking the case top.
A simple design of one white stripe across the top of the front and 2 white stripes across the bottom of the top panel (to mimic the simple design of the x0xi0 faceplate).
Then one stripe across the top of the case back and a thinner stripe across the bottom of the back panel.
All the stripes are then boxed in at the ends, terminating before the side of the panels (just like the design of the x0xi0 faceplate)

Now, out to do a little painting :)

Valentines Day tomorrow ;)

I finished the painting and mask removal.
Some touch-up on the right corners, but I like the overall result.

Since I had so much white paint left, I painted the inside of the box, which was previously very rough. It will be a great background to all of the colourful wires, and electronics

Image

The back didn't turn out so well because I painted the inside without proper forethought. Some of the masking tape was not properly seated and the white paint bled through to the outside of the case. Every little sliver of white paint shows up oh-so-very-well against the flat black.

Off to do a little touch-up :)

Touch-up...HA!

I sanded the entire outside of the case, masked the entire inside which is now nice white.
Then I re-sprayed the entire thing.

This time FOR-SURE

Woo-Hooo :D
This time, with the practice and practical knowledge that I had gained from the first attempt, it worked exactly as I had envisioned!

I painted the lines on the pots and switches on the x0xi0 too.

So, now that the case painting is complete.
Back to the elecronics:
For the V1.0 to V2.0 upgrade, there were a bunch of components to remove or replace.
I have now completed all of the removals, but await the arrival of the upgrade kit from bcbox to continue further.
