Oh, I have, thoroughly, and in circuit as well. It works just fine. Trust me, if it didn't work it wouldn't be in the photo!
It works great in the VCO circuit. If someone wants the kit and doesn't want that one, I'll switch it for another, gladly, because the one currently in the kit has Hfe measurements of 346/346. It not only falls within spec for an F rated C1583, it's perfectly balanced one side to the other!Don Taylor, a.k.a. Brassteacher
