usb device not recognized

I purchased the Kit
i use windows

when plugging in the device i get "usb device not recognized" then the usb device manager window pops up and tells me its an unknown device.
if i try manually installing the driver it tells me "the specified location does not contain information about your hardware"

i do not get any lights on the unit.

i know i didn't do the greatest job soldering the 20pin socket, but it seems to be making contact. heres pictures of the unit.

Same problem only thing is its not a kit it's built from scratch and the firmware on the attiny2313 is burned with a parallel port programmer (avr "bsd") with avr dude . When burning the firmware everything goes ok but when I plug the attiny on the usbisp board and plug it in the usb I get one short flash of the red led and a "USB device not recognized" error mesage in windows.Could you give me a step by step guide to burning the firmware correctly? Which is the correct firmware file ?

Got it working!
I was using the right file "/spi/main.hex" but in the circuit I changed the type of oscillator from a ceramic to a crystal . After reading the datasheet I changed the fuses to "-U lfuse:w:0xff:m -U hfuse:w:0xdf:m -U efuse:w:0xff:m" in avrdude and it worked. If you need a fuse calculator: http://www.engbedded.com/fusecalc
I added 22pF loading capacitors for the crystal just in case.
