Ice Tube Clock Kit Problem

Postby rangerofthewest » Sun Aug 07, 2011 2:24 pm

My ice tube clock kit when I measure the boost (the one that you are supposed to read 40-70 volts on your multimeter) read 9 bolts. Furthermore, I did not recieve a beep from the piezo. Is this normal? And any troubleshooting on the boost converter? :?: :?: :?:

If you didn't get a beep, then the processor is not running and not generating the boost signal. Post photos of the front & back of the board and we will check for any assembly problems.

Well, the pics aren't coming through. But something must be preventing the processor from running. Re-check the 5v supply, and also double- check the color codes on R1, R2 & R5.

Here are the pics. It might be of value to tell you that the beep occured on the test after placing the microcontroller, but this time it didn't.

The photos are a little dark, but the color bands on R2 don't look right. Did you perhaps get R2 and R5 mixed up? Check the color bands on the parts list: http://www.ladyada.net/make/icetube/parts.html
