Monochron display problem- blank screen

Postby Ryba11 » Fri Aug 19, 2011 4:01 pm

I recently soldered a monochron clock kit. when i plugged it in the first time as instructed it beeped as it was supposed to. when i finished the project everything was working and functioning besides the display. I adjusted the brightness to reveal what should have been the clock, but the lights on the screen all turned on all blank. Im not quite sure what the problem is, but the only thing wrong is that the screen displays nothing, even though it still works
here are some pictures

nope. from beginning and plugging it in, there was never any animation on the screen. the electronics all work as the light lights up, the speaker beeps and the screen is lit, just no animation on the screen

I will do that and get back to you. perhaps it was a cold solder or something just went wrong

I have done that. I reheated each of the connection pins of the display: on the both of the boards and it still is displaying the same blank screen while I adjust the brightness.

OK we should try to send you a new display in case thats it - email support@adafruit and ask for a new Monochron display. If you don't have any extra header left over for another display, ask also for a 36 pin 0.1" header
