THanks for the discription 'xlarge'. I was under the impression that the MIDI cable transmitted all the signals. I went out and bought a 6.5mm male to male connector today and got it working. So thanks for clearing that up for me.
But now I have another issue:
Whilst I was doing the testing Im pretty sure the I/O board (the AC supply part) made conntact with the mainboard and shorted out some components. I've since taped the peice of cardboard i used as insulation to the back of the I/O board so it cant move around.
The accent LED is always on. THough the accent function still works when I am in pattern edit mode, just the LED remains on all the time. The LED for the slide function blew so I replaced that and that works fine - as does the slide function. But the biggest issue is that after I make a pattern in the pattern edit function and play it back and all that, as soon as I go to another function e.g. "pattern sync out" or whatever the pattern I just made is no longer there, even if i go back to pattern edit and edit the same location its completely empty. It seems what ever the IC the pattern is stored in has given up - well thats my conclusion. Can anyone offer any help?
I had it working fine, and then this.....
