MintyBoost & iPhone 4/4S & Galaxy Nexus

Wondering if the MintyBoost is having better chances at charging up an iPhone 4/4S or if it will take some more tweaking, similar to the 3Gs/3G?

Same with the Galaxy Nexus.

Thinking about grabbing a few for the family.

Mine charged my iPhone 4S as shipped - I don't recall if it didn't work before I shorted the data pins, but I was trying to test on my (off contract) 3GS before I discovered that they're pickier than the 4S. My 4S charges like a champ, though.

So you did short the data pins?

Promised a friend I'd get her one, but still debating between two AAs in series (as shipped) or 2 of 2 AAs in series then parallel to double runtime (mah)

Made a few up, gave em to owners of an iPhone 4 & iPhone 4S.

Both worked flawlessly on their devices, but would not charge my iPod touch.
Was interesting, but hey, I have my own that works well, and they have theirs!

I built mine stock 2xAA and it worked for charging my Droid 1 and my Galaxy Nexus. I recently upgraded it to have a 3xAA battery box (with switch) and crammed it all in a Penguin Mints tin. Still works for both phones as I'd expect. Sure wish I could get it to charge at more than 500mA because the Galaxy Nexus is a thirsty beast.

I use mine with 4 NiMH batteries to charge my GNex. It works great.

where you able to charge the 4s with just (2) AA alkalines? the only way i can get any kind of decent charge out on iphone is with 2 aa lithium or rechargable nimh??
