High voltages at J4

Hi, i was lucky enough to get a xoxshop.de kit for my birthday and have begun building it up. Unfortunately I am having a problem at the power stage as my voltages at j4 are twice what they should be. They are 11.14 and 24. I have measured the voltages on each of the legs of ic23 and all the legs that should have voltage of 5.3 have a voltage of around 11.14. The voltages of the legs are as follows:

1 24.78
2 11.14
3 11.14
4 0
5 11.12
6 11.14
7 11.14
8 28.02

If anyone could shed any light on this or could sugest how i might go about rectifying the problem i would be really grateful.

hi and welcome to this forum,

are you sure that your multimeter readings are right?
with that high voltages your 6562 on the IO must be hot as hell...

did you get your kit with a 9V AC power adapter? what kind of power supply you use?

Hi, yeah im afraid they are. It didn't come with a supply so i am using a 500ma 9vac supply. My 6562 doesn't seem hot.

ic22 isnt working right
check that its the right part and in the correct orientation
and then make sure its solder joints are good

I have double checked ic 22 and its correct and the joints are fine. Does this mean that ic 22 is faulty?

if ic23 is socketed
remove it and remeasure the votlages at the socket

mesure the resistance from ic23 pin5
to ic22
one of the pins on ic22 should give 0ohms
either ic22 is bad
or its not making the right connections in the circuit

I havent removed ic 23 as it isn't socketed but if i really need to i can take it out pretty easily. I measured the resistance from the 5th leg of ic 23 to the middle leg of ic 22 and i get 0 ohms is that correct?

I'm still not sure that your readings are correct... did you switch your multimeter to measure DC voltages?
If I measure at J4 on my own I/O with AC function on my multimeter, I'll have exactly the same readings.

another test if you want to check ic22
is to short together the 2 pins on ic22
that do not go to ground

then check the voltages on j4
you should be able to adjust them with tm6
