WS2801 LED Strip, pixels out

Received my order today. Ran the sample sketch.. The last eight pixels on the WS2801 LED strip are out. Checked all the obvious.. the strip is set to 25 pixels in the sketch, power supply is fine, nothing appears to have come unsoldered inside the pixels, Arduino memory shouldn't be an issue. If you can think of anything else let me know and I'll try it out. All the other LED's are working properly.

Is there something obvious I'm missing or did I get a bad unit? On somewhat of a deadline here so I need to resolve this ASAP. Thanks!

Yep, if the rest of the pixels are all working as expected up to that point, I'd say it's a bum strip. Please email support@adafruit.com and include a link to this thread for posterity, and we'll get a replacement to you.

If it's a really tight deadline, and if you can get by with 24 pixels instead of 25, I'd suggest cutting out the first non-functioning pixel and rejoin the two partial strands, see if that helps. But it's possible the problem is on the output side of pixel #n-1.

Cool, I figured. I have 10 days or so, not too big a deal, I can get everything else built in the meantime. Thanks for the help!
