The green Xicon polyester caps. Is there a source for these or an accepted replacement range around?

hi,

the greenies from Xicon become "rare" meanwhile but you can use the YX series from Nichicon. it's a very good replacemant part!
available at DigiKey and Mouser.

+1 for XY. I also use the panasonic reds but those seem to be more money and the XYs are easier to come by in the right values and pin spacing

I know i'm a few years behind the crowd making my x0x - so far the caps are the only things I've had issues with

Make sure you check the lead spacing when buying, they often come in different sizes. DONT trust mousers descriptions online, go by the spec sheet or print/online catalog pages. The spider they use makes all sorts of errors. Arrow electronics is also a good source for these in the US (if youre in the uS)
