2.8" TFT Touch Shield for Arduino - Pin usage

Postby C3dYc » Wed May 09, 2012 3:50 am

Hello everyone,

I just bought a “2.8" TFT Touch Shield for Arduino” (http://adafruit.com/product/376), and I need pins A4 and A5 to communicate via I²C with another Arduino board.
Is it possible?

I2C is a 'bus' protocol. You can have more than one device on the bus as long as they use different bus addresses.

Thank you for the reply.
Sorry but I think that I wrote wrong my question (I'm Belgian :s)
I know that I²C is a bus protocol, and I use it to communicate between my 2 arduino boards.
The communication works great, and now I want to plug the screen to display results. The screen take all the Input/Output pins of the Arduino UNO so my question is : can I use pin A4 and A5 of the Arduino on which the screen is plugged for I²C communication or are these pins used by the screen?

I found the answer in the eagle schematic document. https://github.com/adafruit/TFTshield/blob/master/schem.png
Pins A4 and A5 are not used by the screen.
Thank you for your help!
