After spending some time looking around in a few places for the ideal enclosure, this is what I came up with: a simple 4AA battery box. This allows me to use 2AA's, and the circuit fits snugly next to the batteries, no wasted space to keep it as small as possible. Next up I may paint it, will add photos if I do.

BTW I got the case at a surplus electronics shop, but radio shack and the source carry the same box, its pretty standard, and a perfect size if you want to keep to the 2AA size & power output.

A TV-B-Gone fan sent me this link today, putting a TV-B-Gone inside of an old iPod case:

It might work with a TV-B-Gone Kit, too.

All of these cases were free :)

Two unworked cases from PacTec, no IR panels for them:

Only two IR LEDs because my home-etch board was LLLAAAMMMEEE:

I went to Radio Shack yesterday looking for an enclosure. I noticed all the fake display phones and asked if they would sell me one. When they asked what I want it for, I said for the kid to play with. Little did they know the kid was ME! They gave me this one free.

I took it home, pried it open, drilled a few holes and dremeled out an area for the battery. I couldn't fit any alkaline batteries so I'm using this one from my Losi micro-T
http://www.losi.com/Products/Features.a ... d=LOSB0848
The battery has plenty of voltage and current output but at full charge it's like 5.5 V and my TVBGone doesnt work at that high of voltage(?). So I only partially charge it. I also wired in an external button/switch. Overall Im extremely pleased with this. It's small, works great, very stealthy. I only have to open it if I want to see the LED. Only potential downside for me is the antenna could block some of the IR signal

awesome! a little IR window would finish it off nicely!

just did my first mounting in a plastic box that a gift came in-- has a spring hinge, right size, and soft plastic so i didn't wake up neighbors using a knife, gaffer's tape, and hot glue. "borrowed" the the ir window of my VCR's remote-- didn't want to mount the tv-b-gone without concealing the LED's. squeezes near the black dot to hit the button. i'd like to route the led to the back and add another button, but there's so much hot glue, i'll have to tear the case apart to get the board out...:o

Wow great job oPossum, but I don't think that's going to work, the LEDs aren't going to be able to be bent outwards due to their orientation...

Hey, i found terrific boxes for remotes. You can order an IR end panel to go with them.
