env decay and led problem...

when you soldered the pot to the board with jumpers
did you use all six pins on the pot
if this was the case and the circuit worked it cant be a bad pot

at any rate
if it works without 1* 2* and 3* connected
i would suggest that you just put the pot in with 1 2 3 inserted
and leave the rest floating
the upper deck doesnt do anything

We put in Q36 backwards, and have similar behavior.

Maybe double check your diodes, transistors, electrolytic caps, etc. etc.

I'm seeing the very same problem. Could it be a bad pot as well? My kit appears to be working now, but the decay knob does nothing at all to the sound, accented or not.

What is the part number for the Decay pot?

Also, I managed to melt the top of one of my tact switches while desoldering IC7 (it was in backwards ) - not the button cap, just the switch itself. I've melted it back into shape with a hotknife, but I think if I'm going to order a new decay pot anyway, I might as well get a new tact switch while I'm at it. What's the part number for the tact switches?

check d37 is in right way round

have you checked to see if it works with just legs 1,2,3 attached? If so, then it is the same problem I had. After verifying that this was the case, I cut off the unused legs (which don't do anything).

You can stick a resistor in there without the pot to see if the decay is actually working. If it is, then you probably either have a bad pot or a short in the traces around the pot.
