OK. The silver one looks really nice! I think white on red would pretty killer as well!

What about black on white? I think an all white x0xb0x would look banned as hell =o]

I agree white would look cool, but i would avoid it anyway because of all that Mac fanciness. I`m trying to be original.

Another big problem regarding white edition is white knobs... couldn`t find any suitable. When making whole box white with black graphics I wouldn`t like black knobs with white pointers... it would ruin the clean appearance of white box. I already have quite few nice box/panel ideas in sleeve so no need to do concentrate on trying to make proper looking white box.

Hi Sasha,

Did you ever publish the modified PCB design?

Ofcourse, I`ll publish it once I build and verify everything is OK. I still need to get some parts to start building it. It is just a minor (alignment) mod and not for the people that plan to use ladyada`s front panel as the buttons position don`t match the openings on panel so special custom panel is needed.

Hey absolutely great!

Sasha, do you have new pictures from your top-panel (i like the silver one)? On the top-panel picture you posted in this thread there are all the LED's but you said only the sequencer LED's will be there? ...and all buttons are illuminated? ...absolutly amazing your project, i'm very interested in this :)

Hi katarakt, thanks for the nice words and sorry for late reply. Somehow I didn`t get reply notification.
I`ll have some photos soon as I just finish my box yesterday. I`m having some problems with microcontroller so sequencer is not working properly, but tested IC is on my way that should fix it. I didn`t wanted to publish the photos before it is 100% finished and working. I excluded illuminated buttons from the first box. After more than a year of struggling to get all the parts I just want to get it going. Some next x0x will be much more esthetically customized, and will probably feature illuminated buttons.

Sasha, great to here that this project is still alive! Please post pictures if everything is 100%, we can wait for such good things :) ...and if this project is going i have a second x0x case in VW silver metallic prepared (btw. just started my first silver x0x project, so i have much time for the second).

After a lot of time and struggle getting all the parts this project is finished.
Everything works great and looks as I wanted. I`m still keeping the idea to make one with back illuminated buttons and probably custom casing.
Here are some pictures of finished unit.

I painted the part of case from side black so it appears slimmer.

I still need make the PVC masking foil and spray the logo on the back plate. Beside that it`s finished.

I can Make you custom panel if you like. It cost me about 35 EUR for front panel if I remember.
BuT you should know it is actually assembly of 2 pieces. 1.6mm Rowmark front panel, and 3mm acrylic sub panel that is there to add extra strength underneath. I think it adds some extra 5 EUR. I can offer you brushed aluminum look or textured black Rowmark.

THIS IS HOW BLACK TEXTURE ROWMARK LOOKS LIKE
