On/Off Switch Mod

I plan on doing this today. Is there any certain gauge wire i should get, or will the 22 gauge i already have work fine?

i think it'll be fine (not that i know what 22 gauge is) any resonable sized wire will do i think

I would like to add an On/Off switch to my x0xb0x as well, are there any diagrams in how to carry this out ? as i never built my x0xb0x, or will i require a tech to carry this out! or is it simple to do ?

its very simple, you jsut need to cut a trace and solder the switch

it's super easy and you should absolutely do it
you really gotta manhandle that trace, though

they're tougher to cut through than i thought

its worth noting a couple of things,
1: you gotta properly cut thru the trace,.
2: be 100% sure you solder the switch correctly.,

when i finished my x0x i killed my first PSU by soldering my switch with a direct short

okay noted...

the switch i have got is a solteam MR-21

so on the switch the top prong wire (1A) goes to the Power Supply above the track cut nearest the back of the I/O backplate, and the bottom prong wire (1) goes to the power supply below the track cut, or is it the other way around? Gotta get this right, don't wanna blow my PSU in the process.

Why do you all cut a trace for this? I have put in a power switch on both my x0xb0xes by just lifting the back metal pin of the connector and soldering the switch between the lifted connector and the empty hole. This is of course easier to do before you solder the power connector, but it is quite easily desoldered if you are going to do it afterwards.

well i got the on/off switch mod done, but sometimes when i power up all the LED's light up and then it's okay? Should it do that?
