Compiled Wave Bubble Parts List (Work in Progress)

The operation of transmitters designed to jam or block wireless communications is a violation of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended ("Act"). See 47 U.S.C. Sections 301, 302a, 333. The Act prohibits any person from willfully or maliciously interfering with the radio communications of any station licensed or authorized under the Act or operated by the U.S. government. 47 U.S.C. Section 333. The manufacture, importation, sale or offer for sale, including advertising, of devices designed to block or jam wireless transmissions is prohibited. 47 U.S.C. Section 302a(b). Parties in violation of these provisions may be subject to the penalties set out in 47 U.S.C. Sections 501-510. Fines for a first offense can range as high as $11,000 for each violation or imprisonment for up to one year, and the device used may also be seized and forfeited to the U.S. government.

Compiled Wave Bubble Parts List (Work in Progress)

I'm working on making sure that each one of these parts has a link to it to make shopping as pain-free as possible. Some of these part numbers are out of date, and I will work on figuring out which ones those are and find alternatives.

By the way, the total cost here is including tools and the PCBs (which add together to be about $270). Also, the pricing for a lot of these products have changed since Limor has created the first Wave Bubble, so I will also work to make sure the pricing is as accurate as possible.

DigiKey Part List

Here's an updated part list for DigiKey. Parts are for the four board version Wave Bubbles
(with LiPo and AAA battery board). Only Qtys have to be changed if you want to buy parts
for more Bubbles and since there are minimum order quantities for each product.

Maybe it's of use for you.

Actually you can get most of the parts from DigiKey.

Not included in the list is
  • the whole battery stuff (LiPo or AAA battery and protection circuitry) (e.g. Batteryspace),
  • the two VCOs (Minicircuits),
  • the two SXA-389B amplifiers (RFMW)
  • and the assembly material (standoff and screws)

Furthermore the placement of resistors R8 and R9 (for setting the maximum gain for VCO1 & 2) is optional
and the notes for building the power supply part recommended to leave out ceramic capacitor C20, so they
are also not in the list.

You only have to add the two resistors R1 and R2 with the desired values for the low battery detect and
headers JP1 and JP2, but that should be no problem.

I hope that there are no mistakes in my list. Maybe you should doublecheck it - just to be sure.

For headers JP1 and JP2 the following DigiKey parts seem to be adequate:

antares: I'm working on transfering your list onto the Wave Bubble wiki. I would appreciate any help you, or anyone else, can give.

I'm hoping to list all the parts that have a Digikey minimum quantity, and hopefully replace them with a Mouser equivalent that doesn't have such a minimum. Also, I want to get the entire list posted, and then separated into sections (similar to how my list is).

Just added the rest of the DigiKey stuff.

I combined part number and vendor link (for cosmetic reasons) and posted the pricing in USD and EUR currency to satisfy both American and European Wave Bubble enthusiasts. Maybe someone who ordered at Mouser could help out with the corresponding part numbers and include them as well.
