...not the most exciting update pic but it is significant. This is the 50 kits all packed up and ready to go pending the return of the top panel from screen printing.

This is what those alternative trimpots look like that I emailed you guys about.
They're not 100% necessary but can make things easier when trying to tune both VCO's.

Would there be any benefit to replacing some of the other fidgety trimpots (TM3, TM6) with multi-turn pots? This is assuming that spacing on the x0x allows for it...

Sorry for all the questions! I just really like the idea of having a lot more fine control over those adjustments... I remember first tuning my first x0x (#547 w00t!) and what a minor pain it was because of how sensitive those standard single-turn trimpots are when trying to do minute adjustments.

yes, these 4-turn ones are really perfect. 20 turns can be too much, one turn not enough. They fit the standard trimpot footprints on the x0xb0x mainboard and I/O board as well. TM3 is not very critical so I would probably pass on that one but using one for TM6 could help, it looks like there's just enough room for it to fit.

Thanks for those comments. One thing I learned from being a project manager is to always be honest on delivery dates and milestones, especially in this case when you have peoples money. I was working on this project as far back as the beginning of 2007 but made a point of not stating a completion date until I was ready. I'm also and engineer and typical perfectionist so you know how that goes.

For uk based full kit modders, the bourns parts are available from RS.
They're reasonably priced at about £2.30 each BUT, there's a £10 surcharge, which means that it only really becomes viable if you buy a few.
I'm not 100% convinced the 4 turn trimmers are necessary, it's possible, if a little fiddly, to do the tuning with a 1 turn trimmer.
That being said; if there's a few uk (or european) based modders who'd like to buy into an order, drop me a PM and we'll see if we can get enough people together to make it worthwhile...

The top panels aren't back yet :| I was expecting them on Friday but called this morning and they won't be back until later this week. Since the parts are anodized and not raw aluminum the vendor is doing a two part epoxy ink and baking it etc... basically they're doing it right so it should turn out great and last a long time.

Losing another few days is not too bad because we're still working on the Install manual. Booster is doing an incredible job on the document just like he did with Rear panel kit.
