That is one classy looking x0xb0x SubStyler 8)

I really like the deep purple LEDs, looks like they have the perfect intensity too. Did you play with the current limiting resistors or did it just happen to work out like that?

Sorry, I have problems with my eyes with regard to some colors (shades of)
Blue and purple are one of them (and red/green another)
Strange, but otherwise my eyesight is phenomenally good.
Or maybe it is just my computer monitor.

hi maxtim,

ya, it's blue and I build this x0x with 2.2k resisitors for LEDs.
I measured the brightness with an adjustable resistor. in this case 2.2k was the best value for this waterclear blue LED.

Nice 8) BLUE LEDs
Are they all the same, or did you vary the intensity or color?

And that custom toplate is top notch too.
Very eligant...

Heres my largely stock self sourced x0xb0x. Completed last night, and it all worked first time! Cept for a slightly iffy rotary encoder that may need swapping out. Rare parts supplied by Gaetano. Flat top leds, nice metal knobs and power supply (+ pactec case) from RS here in the UK.

Glad you like 8) They are a little tall, so I may get them machined down 3 or 4mm. They also needed drilling out by 1mm or so, to fit on the shafts. The small knobs fitted just fine though.
Incase anyone is interested..
MetalKnobs
The small ones are 15mm if I remember rightly. The large ones are 22mm. I did also get a pair of 33mm knobs to try. They look nice, but were big enough that they covered some of the panel markings, which wasn't so good with these panels, but might be ok for some custom panels/overlays.

[EDIT] Above link to metal knobs no longer works.
You need RS part numbers 467-2491 (X 2) and 498-889 (X 8 )

After I was ripped off by Jerwin I sourced my own box with the rare parts from Gaetano (thanks!). This is the result! I used the acrylic panel and painted it black on the back. The rear panel was hand made from the original PT-10 back panel. The knobs are re'an soft touch knobs I had in a drawer. I am very happy with the result.

Nice job, mang. I'm doing the same with my acrylic panel, hope it comes out looking as good.

This has actually been build (and used live) for a few months but I just found the metal tag I thought Id lost :)

So, without further ado I introduce, X0XBOX #891

http://helpwantedproductions.com/pix/DA ... X0XBOX.jpg
http://helpwantedproductions.com/pix/DA ... 0XBOX2.jpg

Initial build was by the guy who offers builds here on these board (Forgive me I can't remember the name right now but he's top notch). I did all the mods and faceplate, paint design. The Face is a bit ghetto but it works and is what I was shooting for so it's good enough for now until I get a better system.

Design: orange LEDs, Hand painted box with clear coat, original face plate design featuring some of my own names for things which I had some fun with.

Mods Left side, top to bottom:
- Bass boost on/off
- Res boost with pot
- FM VC0 saw/off/srq
- FM VCF saw/off/srq

Mods Right side Top to bottom:
- Muff distortion with two different Diode settings dist1/off/dist2
- Cutoff Loooow extension
- Decay adjust with pot.
- VCA always on
- Gate always on

Mods done by DAED (helpwantedproductions.com/daed.htm) @ HWP

To hear a VERY un-acid like demo of how this creature can sound with all the FM and filter mods check out this MP3 I made:

http://helpwantedproductions.com/filez/MysteryDrone.mp3

All live, no effect. 100% one X0XBOX with nothing else on the track.
