the MANY manuals of the x0xb0x...

Postby speyek » Mon May 31, 2010 4:20 am

Ok...
I know I am a newbie here but it seems to me that there are SEVERAL manuals for the x0xb0x.

I think i have 4 or 5 copies that all slightly differ from one another.

NONE of the manuals I have found really discuss all the features of the x0xb0x in full detail.

Examples...

- Mix In is mentioned but it doesn't discuss what it's use is.
- USER A, B, & C is not even mentioned
- COMPUTER CONTROL is not even mentioned

I am sure if I dig through the forum I will find my answers to this missing info.
But it is quite a bit frustrating for a happy new x0xb0x owner.

Is anyone working on a truly comprehensive manual?
I would like to help.
Or I would gladly start compiling info and graphics for a new manual.

Just wondering so I don't go and try to jump into something if someone is already working on it.

I also do understand that's it's a bit difficult with the x0xb0x beasties...being that they can evolve from user to user both in OS and hardware.
But i think even those mods and tweeks can be included or at least mentioned.

Sorry if this has been asked an uptillion bajillion times.
(I didn't find a thread about it.)

ok...I am going to quit bugging everyone for now and go read some comics...

the problem is that every few days some crazy dud add another feature/tweak and update/change the manual all the time naaaa..
i updated my x0x frimware to sokkos 1.9.1 from here viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3975
and the manual of 1.9.1 is below.

I don't think I read any, as they seemed to be incomplete.
I got started with these 2 vids on YouTube..

Then I installed Sokkos. Which mostly works the same (but with added features). The Sokkos post explains all the extra parts to that well enough.
Thats all I needed to show me how to use the essentials

Do the User A, B, C and Computer Control modes do anything presently?
I looked in the manuals and wiki and couldnt find any info.

alex dubinski did the most comprehensive manual ive found. have to search im afraid.

also i found on here user a-c dont do anything (yet?) but not sure about c. control.

Youll have to search the forum a lot im afriad, loads of useful info tho!

the sokkos firmware mentioned above is a great upgrade and the instructions are on that forum post.

Or ask a specific query, people are generally helpful. :)

a manual would have to be made per each new firmware (and by it's author)
since 99.5% of the functionality depends on that
in the stock x0x firmware (v1.05) USER A is "Pat EDIT (MIDI)" while USER B and C do nothing
Computer Control is where you can connect to the x0x to change tempo and load/save memory
We are here too: irc.freenode.net >>> #x0xb0x
..:: c0nb0x v1.00 ::.. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=29282 (new control app - win/osx)
VCO Tuning: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=24759 (do it the EASY way)
