I just saw this on matrix, and I'm impressed (I was already thinking about whether I would get one...)
Did you consider putting it in a different case, so you had room for the jacks etc?

I'll be getting one of these to hack. At least so it could have midi or cv. That crappy little keyboard would drive me nuts..
Also, have a look at this:

It's in foreignese, but you'll get the idea. Be sure to click on the Youtube movie link too.

BUMP
I just got one of these, and I can't wait to hack the thing up!

Monotrons seem to be little legends already. Stupid cheap, analogue, sounds good and it rather looks like Korg actually want people to mod them?!
I say that because the PCB is already conveniently labelled with handy CV points, AND, Korg just published the schematics for it, which im sure will be an interesting view for some people around here?

Anyone else got one and been modding them?

I've got two now, and have the intention of combining them into a single two oscillator synth. I found that schematic link this morning in another forum, and needless to say I was very glad to see it! It'll save me TONS of time trying to trace the circuit, since it's all surface mount components on at least a double-sided board. A lot of traces go underneath the pots also.

I hope I'm not missing something obvious on this schematic, it's been a long day and my brain is tired, but it seems VCC and VA are the same thing?

I can't wait to get started, but I'm going to make myself at least get my x0x build completed enough to start running the planned semiconductor experiments.

 http://beatnic.jp/monotron/

He has some weenie little midi to cv pcb kits for sale.

I got some. Could just be the cheapest midi/cv convertor on the planet man.

I might not buy a monotron but I have started cutting my own boards.
I have divided the circuit for modular use.
will share when files are cleaned up.
