usb and bootloader

Postby JimmySynth » Fri Oct 01, 2010 5:25 am

Hi Guys Jimmy here again with a some more daft questions.
when you are in patern edit and setting up a sequence is midi sent, mine does not.
Is there a way of testing that the bootloader works without actually up loading a new os.
What does computer control do on the rotarty switch?
and finally what can i use the usb socket for, just bootloading or can i use a usb mini keyboard like a midi keyboard ?
I have printed out the manual from the adafruit site but has any one written a detailed manual ? Thanks for your help and if you know any or all these answers i thank you. James

not sure about in edit mode, does it work in playback mode (it definately does here). You'll also have to set the midi channel so perhaps thats your problem, go to midi play mode then use the bank selector to choose the midi channel 1-16 then its set.

There's no real way except to set to bootload and power on and check if soem leds light up.

Computer control doesnt do anything at the moment, its one of those unused features, but may possibly be used in a future os.

Usb socket is for updating firmware or dumping pattern memory back and forth etc.
