USB Boarduino not showing up as /dev/ttyUSB*

I've recently bought a "USB Boarduino (Arduino clone) Kit w/ATmega328" I would like to program it using the Arduino IDE from the Ubuntu repositories. I'm running 10.10. I don't see the Boarduino show up as a tty device. Using the same configuration I can program a regular Duemilanove without issues so I guess it can't be a software configuration problem. Anybody can think of things that can cause this kind of behavior? Is this a faulty board? What's the return policy who should I contact?

It should appear to your computer the same as a Duemilanove.
What does the board do when you connect the USB cable. Any LED activity?
Have you tried a different cable or different computer?
Post some clear photos showing the front & back of the board and we will look for any assembly problems.
