can someone help with an MC-202 tech question?

Postby ripe909 » Tue Nov 30, 2010 11:53 pm

Hey all,

I am working on a 202 which is somewhat x0x-ish... and hoped someone could help with mapping some voltages in the power supply.

Specifically I am looking at the voltages around Q6 and Q7 when the 202 is powered on (and not in power save mode). I am expecting the collector of Q7 to be +9V (or close to it with an regulated supply, around 12v) with the emitter and base at +9V also (and with power save off at Q6) but I'm not getting anything...

I've tried replacing Q7 twice with the same results.

Any help is appreciated:

whats the voltage on the other side of r40

q6 is a switch to turn on the powersupply
and either its bad
or its not getting the turn on signal

Thanks for the reply. It looks like it is the turn on voltage for the transistor. A Zener diode was failing and causing the digital power supply to fail, which in turn would not turn on the analog supply.
