Fixing Science

This has come up many times on the electronics forums, so:

What else would you "fix" if you had access to a time machine?

Space program. I would go back there and plant a firm kick in their back-sides to get them to commit to migration off-planet.
We are messing around and I feel we have screwed-up and will never make it off this planet.

This is an interesting question... takes a bit of thinking which I'll have to do before fully answering. But a start:

1) Right before the vote on the $800B stimulus package. Why? So I can b1tchslap everyone that's thinking of voting for it.
2) The 2008 elections (although neither candidate was worth a damn). Smaller government is way better than bigger government. Have you waited in line at the post office lately? Have you tried to get a driver's license lately? And we want government-controlled health care? Yeesh.
3) The Bill Clinton years when he started Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for the purpose of ensuring that everyone was equal and could own a house which eventually led to the housing bubble and crisis we have now. Repeat after me: equal opportunity; not equal results!

That's it for now... :P :P :P

Well, I was thinking more science-related "fixes" but if it's a free-for-all, then I would definitely use a time machine to go back and kill Rick Berman just after the final episode of TNG was wrapped.
