Laser Business Help?

I can't express how much I love your site and your support for what you do.

My question is about investment... as far as the laser etching business goes, how much would I have to have saved up to start my own if I go the lowest route possible like the Epilog Zing? Or what do I need to look for if the smallest I would etch would be laptops or computer panels?

Well, about $8000 for the laser...

Has anyone around the forums or anyone know someone that has the Zing?

I've still got a while before I can purchase one... Army doesn't pay me nearly enough, and being married doesn't help either. But this is a project I wanted to start for 2 years... almost saved up enough looks like.

I just got my 30W Zing delivered last week and it's a great little machine. The 16"x12" cutting table is small, but sufficient for what I need.

My only gripe with this laser is when I'm vector cutting it likes to do straight lines slower than curved lines so it ends up burning the material.

The cost was $8500 for the laser and training, $350 for the blower, $300 for the air pump and $250 shipping.
