I just ordered my Adafruit ARDX - v1.3 Experimentation Kit for Arduino. I've assembled some electronics kits in the past. I can ID parts (transistors, resistors, diodes, caps, etc), and can solder, even though this kit doesn't require it.
I'm a 50 something married female who discovered ladyada and Adafruit over the weekend. I googled to find out how to cut and solder an analog RGB LED strip I have for a lighting project I'm planning. Of course I found the tutorial, schematic, and a thing called an Arduino.
Since my actual working knowledge of electronics is spotty, and I'm a kinesthetic learner, the Arduino seems perfect for me. I'm looking forward to combining my limited programming with my limited electronic skill to do stuff and to learn in the process.
