Re: Communicating with Multiple Feathers Simultaneously and

I've done a number of modular instrumentation systems this way. Whenever I detect a new COM port, I query it and the device responds with an ID and a list of connected devices. The downside of this approach is - as you say - other serial devices that are not part of the scheme will not understand th...

Re: Product Help: UV/IR Sensor Query

The library uses the small IR sensor for light measurement. The large IR sensor is configured for proximity detection.

Re: Product Help: UV/IR Sensor Query

ha its ok, I though that with the value given from sensor multipling with a table 2 constant you can get the solar radiation (w/m2). I have seen that aproximal convertion from luminance to solar radiation. It is still a very low value, because that value make me a solar panel efficiency of almost 10...

Re: Product Help: UV/IR Sensor Query

Not sure where the fractional part would come from. An integer to float conversion should have no fractional part. Assuming then that the original visible reading in sunlight was 1680, you need to look for the "Sunlight" test condition for the visible light photodiode in table 2. That give...

Re: Product Help: UV/IR Sensor Query

I think I have done an other publication, sorry jaja I can see on what you have sent me : // returns visible+IR light levels uint16_t Adafruit_SI1145::readVisible(void) { return read16(0x22); } , that the values have IR light levels too, I would like the measure where just of visible radiation, beca...

Re: Product Help: UV/IR Sensor Query

I'm using an ESP8266, using the example code, I send the data across WiFi to a page, and I read the data there. I also work with arduino and USB serial. The next fragment of code, I'm using on the ESP8266 (the rest of the configuration is the same than the example): float UVindex = uv.readUV(); floa...

Re: Product Help: UV/IR Sensor Query

What is the actual serial output from the program? The readVisible function returns a 16 bit integer. It cannot possibly return 1679,75

Code: Select all | TOGGLE FULL SIZE
// returns visible+IR light levels
uint16_t Adafruit_SI1145::readVisible(void) {
 return read16(0x22);
}

Re: Product Help: UV/IR Sensor Query

I have alredy done other measure at my room, and it gave entire numbers, /*************************************************** This is a library for the Si1145 UV/IR/Visible Light Sensor Designed specifically to work with the Si1145 sensor in the adafruit shop ----> https://www.adafruit.com/products/...

Re: Product Help: UV/IR Sensor Query

For example working with the example you give me, the measure taken are: Visible : 1679,75 IR : 14062 UV : 6 Please post the exact code you are using. The example sketch in our Arduino library returns a 16 bit integer for the raw reading. It is not possible to get the "Visible" values you...

Re: Product Help: UV/IR Sensor Query

I don't know if I still not understand or the measure I have taken are wrong. I have made the sunlight measure, so the constant I have to use to have the final result on W/m2 is: ADC count * 8.2777. For example working with the example you give me, the measure taken are: Visible : 1679,75 IR : 14062...

Re: Product Help: UV/IR Sensor Query

Now I understand that the Visible radiation measure is about luminance and its units is in lux, The example code is not printing lux values. it is printing the raw ADC counts. I need to take a visible radiation measure in W/m2, is that possible with this sensor? Yes it is. Table 2 tells you the con...

Re: Product Help: UV/IR Sensor Query

I have been looking the Si1145 datasheet all day, more exactly table 2 like you told me, and I couldn't understand how to work with the example you give us. Talking about the example for the meditions of UV, Visible, and IR: Now I understand that the Visible radiation measure is about luminance and ...

Re: Product Help: UV/IR Sensor Query

The spectral response is shown on page 14 of the datasheet: https://cdn-shop.adafruit.com/datasheets/Si1145-46-47.pdf The Arduino library example code prints the raw measurements and the UV Index. Conversion factors from raw measurements to other units can be found in table 2 of the datasheet (linke...

Re: Metro M4 beta I2c pins

On the Metro M4 Express board, we assign PB03/PB02 to SCL/SDA. They work as I2C. The datasheet table appears to be wrong. Notice that the first paragraph in that section contradicts what the table says. Perhaps someone would like to query MicroChip. In the SAMD21 datasheet, there's a table (7.2.3 SE...

Re: Product Help: UV/IR Sensor Query

Hello, I haver alredy bought an Si1145 sensor. I worked with the example and everything works ok. I understand that it have 2 sensors, one is to visible radiation measure and the other to IR. My question is, if the sensor measure is on all the visible spectrum (400 nm to 800 nm) or just on the value...
