Re: weather station for mominlaw.... part1: the outdoor unit

its said in the comments to the gps code that i should not hand query the GPS

but since i only transmit to the inside display once every 60 sec could i do this anyway and just read the GPS at the start of the loop?

Re: Query stored data on adafruit.io by time

Hi Adam! Configuring this into Arduino C seems pretty daunting, do you have any other ideas or references I can go off of? I guess you are using a raspberry pi or laptop with MQTT? I'm open to using other protocols, not just MQTT, just pulling my daily values off adafruit (about 50 entries) is what ...

Re: Serial1 drops a lot of bytes

Yes, I am using a simple sketch, as mentioned in my original query. I read bytes from the HW serial port: while (Serial.available()) { char d = Serial.read(); client.write(d); } I need to transfer 22000 bytes, with no handshaking, and experiencing massive data loss. I tried setting a larger ring buf...

Re: Battery Operated Electronic kits

(We don't do phone support: I've edited out your phone number for privacy.) For simple programming the Circuit Playground Express is an excellent choice. It is highly self-contained, and can be programmed in multiple ways. MakeCode is the easiest way for beginners: Read the product descriptions for ...

Challenged CURLing reading feeds

I don't know what I am doing. I feel the Adafruit.io docs are incomplete. So I need a spot of help. I want to use curl to get the values between a date range, and for extra credit - limit to 1 record. So that is three things: 1) return values only, 2) between a date range, 3) limit to 1 record. I ca...

Re: Sending Structs over HTTP_POST_start

Yep, that's the general process. A POST query would generally report all the values one by one in the body of the message, with a separator between the items. If you're going to flatten the data to a single item, you can probably use a GET query and a text-based encoding. I often use base-64 encoded...

Re: NeoPixel/ESP8266 project plausibility check

I'm also interested in an NTP client for Circuit Python. Is there an implementation? I know there is an Arduino implementation, but I can't find anyone who has ported it to Python. There does seem to be an implementation of NPT in plain old Python, but I'll bet it would be a major effort to port it....

SMS when soil needs water

I've got the stemma soil sensor working with Arduino, & I've got the IFTTT to send a text message when the plant needs watered, but I don't know how to query through an if statement then run the send text routine within Arduino (will be eventually ESP8266). how can I put them together ? and I do...

Crickit hat for RPi showing overvolt from phone powerpack, o

Hi, I'm powering a Crickit Pi Hat from one of those cellphone backup battery packs. I'm getting an overvolt light on the cricket (the triangle next to the slightly worried looking smilie face), but everything seems to be working okay. How bad is this? Also, I can't find a way to query the Crickit or...

Re: SEESAW Soil - flashing firmware

When idle, they're both high. During the query SDA and SCL both go low and stay there until I unplug the offending sensor. I've taken at look at the compiled code in gdb and objdump, and it looks reasonable and seems organized similarly to the shipped firmware which I dumped from one of the unmodifi...

Re: Query stored data on adafruit.io by time

Thanks for the reply Adam!

Ok, this will work I think. For now I don't actually need this, I can do some querying locally. I will certainly get this implemented down the road and will revisit this forum.

Cheers,

Corey
