RSS feeds regularly mess up

Dear Admin's,

I have subscribed to this forum making use of a RSS-feed.

Oftentimes - like today - I am suddenly confronted with loads of unread items. Today it seems like all items since 18 january 2016 have been updated. The result of which is that they are re-presented as new and unread items.

Is there a way to prevent this please?

Hmm.. I'll have to check with the web development team on that.

The issue probably ties back to our development team's continuing work to tune the website. If they make a change that has an effect on how the pages are generated, it would trigger a new date in the RSS feed's 'created' or 'updated' fields. Your RSS reader will see that as an update that makes the item look new.

We'll see if there's some way to avoid that.

An example this morning: 99 unread messages, fout of which are for February 11.

You might check your RSS reader. Which one are you using? I had 23 posts 8 from the 10th after 9:30 and the rest from this morning.

I use NetNewsWire for Mac. For most other feeds it works as expected.

Still no joy. I have been patiently waiting, but still 99 "new messages" every time. I switched of the feed now.
Bit BANNED I must say.
