Pi B+ 512MB

by Motorn on Fri Apr 08, 2016 9:30 pm

I got the Pi for Christmas and am unable to get it to fire up. The red led comes on but the processor starts getting hot.
I thought it was the power supply but after checking, the voltage it is ok. I ordered a new Pi and it works fine with all the
peripherals so something is wrong with the original Pi. Do I have any options?

For the Raspberry Pi, if it's within 30 days we can do a refund/exchange, after that please contact element14. http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1627216.pdf

Ok,
I contacted Element 14 and they tell me that since I didn't buy it from them, they can't honor my warranty. The link that you sent me says something to that affect. They tell me that the unit is under warranty but since adafruit bought it from them adafruit must return it for credit. Element 14 says I must return it to you for replacement or credit. Please advise.

Technical support and then Customer support. They both told me the same thing.

If you need a name, I just called them back again and got the same answer from Amanda in Customer Support.

Thanks. I talked to element14 tech support. element14 is a supplier and gets their Pi's from the UK and there is no warranty other than that of the final seller, in this case Adafruit. Our warranty is 30 days.
