I got the minipov from a kit, but I am going to make it into a brain machine. I have a mac os x and using an adapter cable. The lights light up when I turn it on but when I plug it in and type in "avrdude -p t2313 -c dasa -P /dev/cu.PL2303-0000101D" it just says
avrdude: AVR device not responding
avrdude: initialization failed, rc=-1
Double check connections and try again, or use -F to override
this check.
avrdude done. Thank you.
What do I do?
I am a beginner in programming.

Re: HELP! MiniPOV3 not working
Sorry, but i have the same trouble here. I make my MiniPOV by myself, not from kit. I use AtTiny2313 and serial port, not usb. Once i plug the serial cable, the second LED is turn on, but when i turn on the battery pack (2), it's off. When i enter the command, it's said "AVR device not responding"
What should i do?

Re: HELP! MiniPOV3 not working
make sure the minipov is powered when you try to program it - turn on the battery pack.
next, when you try to program it, some LEDs should blink...do they?

When I type in "avrdude -p t2313 -c dasa -P /dev/cu.PL2303-0000101D" and hit enter, the lights keep flashing as they always have.

Re: HELP! MiniPOV3 not working
When I plug it in but not program, the four leds that I stuffed light up. Same for when I try to program it.

Re: HELP! MiniPOV3 not working
sounds like its not going into reset. check the soldering on d3, r11 and pin 7 on the serial connector. might as well check all the soldering, but concentrate on the three diodes, r10-12, and the serial connector. got any nice, in focus, pictures of the board?

Re: HELP! MiniPOV3 not working
Well, I re soldered that and it worked! But... now when I type in "make program-alt_leds" it says
make: *** No rule to make target `program-alt_leds'. Stop.
Now what?
