Diode and Programming Problem

Post by playinmyblues »

After the last time I programmed my minipov3 it stopped working at some point. I think I have found the problem to be a blown diode, D2. According to the website, D2 is a 5.6 V Zener diode, 1N5232B. I do not have one of those, but I have a 1N4733A, a 5.1 V Zener diode.

The 1N4733A is a 1 W Zener and the 1N5232B is a 1/2 W Zener.

Is there any concern regarding the voltage differences between the two zener diodes? I appears from the schematic that these zener diodes, D1, D2, and D3 are there for programming purposes even though the schematic uses 3 V Zener diodes and there are some other differences.

we really do suggest using the exact same diode. you could try it but if it doesnt work...
