SpokePoV Images

Post by LED_Lighting_Company »

Having got my new PoV working, I have used some images from MUX posting and uploaded to our site, they can be viewed @ http://www.theledlightingcompany.co.uk/ ... CT/pov.htm

Just one kit has been used, bike is upside down to enable rear wheel to spin.
Adjustment made to the Set Rotation to enable image to be viewed correctly when the3 bike is upside down.

A quick custom text image was made in BANNED, saved as BMP and imported just to test everything.

Magnet is mounted to the brake block as the frame is Aluminium.

Comments please.

Those look awesome... the golf ball and acid inside ones turned out really nice.

How long did it take you to build it?

Assembly time was less than 30 minutes and in a slightly different order.

We use diffent PCB holders for soldering, the PCB is clamped on a frame, the parts are placed from the top then a lid comes down to hold parts in place. Inside the lid has s ESD foam pad, comes down to hold components into position, then the frame can be flipped over so the bottom lid can be removed to allow soldering.

Our soldering order was, Resistor, Resistor pack, IC Bases and IC, LEDs/
The battery clips were soldered by hand.

By using this type of frame has two advantages, solder time reduced as there is no need to tack solder scomponents and the LEDs will not wobble and can be soldered straight without having to readjust for movement during soldering.
