x0xb0x BOM v1.9 attached (last updated March 6 2009)

Post by bcbox »

I have attached a x0xb0x BOM in excel format. It is primarily for people in the US that want to built a x0xb0x from scratch and need to buy all the parts. The majority of the parts are from Digikey and Mouser. The data is already arranged so you can easily copy and paste the parts lists into the Mouser and Digikey BOM import tools. There were a few components that are obsolete or otherwise hard to get. In those cases I have replaced the original spec'd part with an equivilent (memory ic, etc..). This BOM includes the latest updates from niksun.

Download the BOM here

OK. Thanks. I put the bom together for myself because I needed to organize the process of buying all the parts and stuff and I figured other people could use it.
I have updated the BOM link above. It is now all inclusive including all the generic hardware. I have also added a second sheet to cover the rare parts. There is a spreadsheet listing some places where I have found some of them and the prices I was quoted. I have named the lateset file x0xb0x_BOM_1.2 just to differentiate from the older version.
[edit] it's now at v1.4

TWO ERRORS in the x0xb0x_BOM_1-4.xls file

Post by mvcl »

Hi,
A couple of problems to watch out for.
On line 3, the 1.5 Mohm resistor part number, "271-1M-RC", is wrong. You need to order "271-1.0M-RC"

On line 58, DO NOT ORDER the "140-XRL160V47" - that is a monster sized 160 volt capacitor. It will not fit. You need the 16V part number "140-XRL16V47" which is the right size, and cheaper. Today at Mouser they are about $0.05 each, and about $0.12 each at Jameco.

Maybe BCBOX, you can make these changes to your excel file and increment the version number?
Cheers,

bcbox thanks for the BOM, it is making it very easy to self-source everything!

I just tried to add the following to my digikey order:
306UC202B
306UC502B
306UC503B
306UC504B

And was presented with a minimum purchase qty of I believe 500. I'm looking for replacements / alternate sources now!

Cheers (and thanks for the spreadsheet!)
Tom

edit: looks like the items present in the original x0xb0x partslist are still available, those being:
CT6EP202
CT6EP502
CT6EP503
CT6EP504

thanks yumeiki.

I updated the BOM again. I started a new sheet for alternative parts that can be used in case the usual spec'd part is out of stock. I also updated the rare parts list.
[I noticed chipforbrains is now selling AN6562's, and also has 2SC1583/2SC2291 pairs up for auction right now]

See first post for link.

Mouser #: 604-WP7113HD
Mfr. #: WP7113HD

THANKS!

Looks like the main issue is the stuff on backorder- advice for products? I am not very familiar.

of the ones with multiple matches, i was able to grab up the correct thing (I think).

edits: took ROHS compliant parts as substitutes.

- Are ROHS parts any different, or just 'compliant' and identical in function?

if you look in the responce you got where it says "RoHS Version" it provides you with a part number for a compatable substitute, obviously its not on all the parts you listed, but itll help fill some gaps for you

Thanks.

I updated my post to reflect the problems - looks now like I have a few parts on backorder.

should i order substitutes or just wait for the backorder to fill?

BTW - just sourced all 'rare' parts from albani and from ebay.

Why does the BOM have a 12VAC adaptor on it instead of the 9VAC adaptor listed on the main site's "Parts" page?
