"Tap" button using the rotary encoder button?

Post by cheesy »

I noticed that the rotary encoder also has a button built into it. Is this used at all? Is it even available to the microcontroller?

If so, it would be awesome if we could implement a "tap" feature using it. You know, where you tap the button in time with beats from another source and it matches the BPM. The original TB-303 had this feature I think.

I haven't looked at the digital section very carefully so I don't know if this is even possible. If the button on the tempo rotary encoder isn't wired, would it be possible to use another button that's not used in the playback modes?

Nevermind, it's already included, that will teach me to RTFM...

But how about using the Tempo rotary encoder button? And I'm still wondering if it's even wired to the microcontroller.
