Re: Glide Question
Like the 303, the x0x has a slide feature which basically holds the gate open through however many notes you want. But you can't glide through the notes indefinitely because the sound decays fairly quickly. (Like when you pluck a guitar string.) You need at least one non-sliding note per pattern.
If that doesn't make any sense at all, perhaps someone else can explain it using a real music vocabulary. :)

Re: Glide Question
Hi eil
thanks for u'r reply, and for explaning me.
i just asked if the x0x can be with slow glide and not fast as the slide.
for example if i'm on midi play mode and on my keyboard midi controler i press a note and keep pressing it and simultaneously press another note in higher octave..then i want the change btween the notes to be slow and that i can control the amount of the glide.
i understand that its not possible so...thanks

Re: Glide Question
if i understand correctly
you want to be able to vary
the time it takes to transistion between pitches
this can be accomplished by cutting the trace
between the a to d converter and ic11
and then insert an audio taper pot of 1M
the only issue with doing it this way
is that your notes might not be exactly in tune
as you turn the pot up
although since its gliding
it might not be noticeable

Re: Glide Question

this is what i mean... to glide and as the pot is going up it will be off tuning (psychodelic )
guest can u show me (in pic) where exactly i need to cut and plug the pot please ?
i just dont want to make a mistake, i dont know what and where is the A to B converter.
i need 1M log pot right?
thanks again guest YOU ARE A GENIUSE

Re: Glide Question
the blue line that runs from r89 to pin5 of ic11
its long and directly above s3
you can solder to r89 and ic11
or scrape the solder mask off the remaining trace
and solder to the exposed copper

Re: Glide Question
Hello!
I'm interested in doing this mod. I've made what you suggest to do, but the sound doesn't change when i apply this modification. And when i remove the pot (1M log), with the cut between r89 and ic11, the sound doesn't change! Is it normal?
And what would happen if i put a 1M linear pot?
Thank you very much for your answers.
Regards
J.

Re: Glide Question
did you cut the trace properly? it should make a difference, as far as pot type, both will work but the shape of the curve when you sweep the pot is different. Linear is better for voltages, log for audio.Joule219 wrote:Hello!

Re: Glide Question
thank you for your answer.
yes, i think i've properly cut the trace. but i cannot check it today.
just another question to be sure. if the trace is properly cut, is it possible that the sound comes until my speakers? or the cut between r89 and ic11 should mute the sound?
thanks

Re: Glide Question
i dont think it will mute the sound, as far as i can tell this is just adjusting the slide timeJoule219 wrote:thank you for your answer.

Re: Glide Question
Hey,
it works, but when i turn the pot to the left or to the right, it doesn't change anything!!! i'm not sure to understand what happens here... is there a solution to fix this problem or i've done something wrong?

Re: Glide Question
