do you know if you really have a bootloader?
you can test that (assuming you have a working firmware):
1) switch OFF
2) set the MODE selector to bootload
3) switch ON - some leds might be lit (it's kinda random)
4) turn the MODE selector to any mode, for example random mode, pattern play, etc.. if the x0x actually changes LEDs, reacts, plays patterns - then it's running the firmware, which would mean that either you have no bootloader, or it doesn't work properly

if the x0x doesn't react, then the bootloader is probably there
you could try on another computer, or so..

yeah, ive flashed it before with sokkos, then marOS.. when changing to marOS my midi stopped working (i think, i did it straightaway to maros when i learnt about the randomise function), really love the MarOS so im trying to go back to sokkos to test to see if midi does work, then back to MarOS to see whats up with that firmware

yeah, it stays on bootloader when changing modes :]

ive tried sending midi notes/start/stop/clock to it and nothing happens, midi or dinsync

i think sokkos and MarOS use the same pattern format, thus it's normal that you got your old patterns in, they didn't go anywhere

if you want the x0x to be played via external midi notes - switch to MIDIPLAY mode, the BANK selector would select the input midi channel (also shown via the BANK LEDs)
send midi notes to that channel (or change it)
