Direct solar charging?

Post by HeliosPrime »

I have a 26 watt 12 volt solar panel (brunton Solaris 26) that I take camping. I'm looking for information on what components I need between the solar panel and any device That can take a micro USB charge at 5v up to 2.1amps ( phones, tablets, flashlights, etc), will the power boost work for that? I'd like to avoid the additional lipo battery component if possible... it's one less possible failure point in the back country.

Thanks in advance!

powerboost won't take 12V. You could use one of these to get your 12 down to 5:
