MintyBoost type device for iPad?

by cosmicvoyager on Thu Jul 04, 2013 6:02 pm

Greetings,

Is there a name for MintyBoost type devices?

Can someone show how to modify to get 2 amps so it can charge an iPad?

Is there a version whatever this type of device is called that outputs 5 volts and 2 amps sold anywhere?

Thanks

Unfortunately the mintyboost cannot do it.
We do have an UBEC that can provide 5V 2A from a higher voltage say 6V+ but we don't have a tutorial on how to adapt it for iPad

I see a 3A one, but no 2A ones. Is it safe to use higher amps?

Yes. The iPad will only draw as much current as it needs.
