Hi,
What is the function of the PCB in the MintyBoost? To clarify, why can't you just hook a battery pack to a voltage regulator (if needed) and a USB breakout?
Thanks!

Most regulators start with a higher voltage and regulate it down to a lower voltage. So to get 5v, you would need to start with a battery voltage higher than 5v.why can't you just hook a battery pack to a voltage regulator (if needed) and a USB breakout?
The MintyBoost is a "Boost" converter. It can take a lower voltage (like 3v) and boost it to 5v.
