powerboost 1000 c

Post by gagsters888 »

Hi, I had recently purchase a powerboost 1000 basic from a distributor and I was just wondering what does the LBO control pin does? From what I understand, if we solder the LBO pin to the battery, does it means when the battery voltage input to the powerboost 1000 basic is below 3.2v, then the powerboost 1000 wont work anymore?

Do not solder this pin to the battery. It will not work anymore if you do that.

By default it is pulled up to the battery voltage by a weak pullup resistor. When the battery voltage falls below 3.2v, the charger will pull this pin to GND. You can connect this to a GPIO pin on your processor to detect when the battery is low.

what do you mean by when the voltage fall below 3.2 v, it will pull this pin to ground? does it means by default, this circuit will not work when it is below 3.2v?

The LBO pin is an output pin that signals when the battery voltage is low. It does not shut off the boost controller. It only indicates that the battery is nearly drained.

If you purchase your battery from us, the battery protection circuit will cut power from the battery when it reaches the minimum safe charge level.

so you are saying if we purchase the battery from you and as the voltage of the battery falls below 3.2 v(let say 3.2 v is the minimum charging level), the battery will then stop supplying voltage to the powerboost 1000 basic?
