I bought a SpokePOV kit way back in 2009, but never got around to assembling it. I'm thinking about taking a stab at it now, but I wonder if it would be worthwhile. Will the current version of the software be able to program such an old SpokePOV?
Also, I'm wondering if LEDs have gotten brighter in the intervening years. Would it be worth my while to buy a new set?
Worthwhile building 2009 kit?

The circuit should be fine. Software backward compatibility could be an issue on some systems.
But leds have gotten brighter and more colorful.
