pi zero w won't boot

by jeqberry on Thu Nov 08, 2018 6:53 pm

I recently got this and using the SD that came with it (has NOOBS) , and it looks like it is coming up then
I get a message about IRQ and DMA. It goes so fast. I really can’t read it.

Then a message that I am not connected to the internet.

Then the main screen comes up and everything is greyed out and it does not show any of the files on the SD in the window.

Download a fresh copy of Raspbian lite and load that to an SD card and try again. The Pi Zero W needs the latest version of the software.

If you are unsure

SD Formater for windows to format the card fresh to install OS system for raspberry Pi boards

Then get Etcher for windows . a program to install .img files on sd cards for Raspberry Pi boards . Works on onther things also , lol

Windows 32bit Installer or 64 if you want

get raspbian from here

Unzip and Use etcher to select the unzipped file then select the card you reformated and then select flash . it will take that .img file and place it on the card and it will be able to be used by the Pi board

Then you can connect the hdmi to a monitor and a mini to usb adapter to a USB keyboard to finish the setup
