problem with BME280

by tron999 on Sat Jun 12, 2021 9:02 pm

I purchased a BME280 sensor from Amazon a couple months ago. Unfortunately, I did not get to my project right away so I am past the 30 day return window.

My problem is that my pi zero w loses the connection to the BME280 after it's been running for a few hours. When I run the i2cdetect command, I don't get anything on any address. It's just "--" across the board.

The only way to get it back is to unplug the pi zero from power completely.

Do I have a faulty sensor?

How do you have them connected? I mean the physical connections. Posting some clear photos would help.

Huh. I've never seen cable/connectors like that before.

I wonder if retouching the soldering will help. That's always my go-to first thing to try, and some of them look potentially problematic. It doesn't take much to throw off a high speed I2C or SPI signal.
