Hi all,

I have a Adafruit Sound fx board 16mb new fresh out of the packet from Pi hut, it seems to pop up as an audio device on the PC (VS1000B)... My 2mb board works without any issue and allows me to transfer files but the 16mb doesn't want to know... Any ideas? Thanks for any help...

Are you using the same cable and USB port that you had been using with the 2MB board?

It can take a minute to appear. What color is the LED on the Audio FX board when plugged in to your machine?

Is there anything connected to the Audio FX (aside from the USB cable)?

thanks for helping out... So yes I'm using the same USB that works with the 2mb board (also tried another 4 different ones with no luck)

Both the Green and Red LED are on when plugged in.

And no nothing is plugged in the board not even soldered the pins in yet.

Do you have a multimeter that you can measure the voltage on the trigger pins with respect to GND?

Since the red light is on this could indicate the VS1000 processor is having an issue. The voltage would be the confirmation.

So 1 to 10 are all different around 3.28 and 0.44??

The 3.28 sounds right as this board is supposed to output at 3.3v, but the 0.44v is not. Are you using a full power 2A USB port? If so let’s try a replacement board. Please send an e-mail to support@adafruit.com. Be sure to include this forum link and your order#.

Yeah tried that... Just weird how the 2mb works perfectly and the 16mb doesn't.. Guess its just a faulty unit... Ok cool ive emailed support, thanks for your help its appreciated
