1733 anemometer

by rogerzipp on Thu May 26, 2022 10:51 am

I bought a 1733 anemometer to replace mind that got damage with the wind. I am not sure 100% that this one is compatible as a replacement, it is an analog unit , the parameters needed are as follows, Power supply mode: DC24V, Output mode: analog output, current type, 4~20mA, The corresponding wind measurement range is .0~60m/s. I am not getting any data with it if it is compatible, I wire it (Red,DC24v, BLK V+ and yellow V-) I wired it red to brn, blk to blk, and blue to yellow.

That's different from our anemometer.

4mA to 20mA devices are common as industrial sensors because current isn't sensitive to line losses in long wires.

Our anemometer (pid 1733) uses voltage for its output. The specified output voltages are 0.4V ro 2.0V, which you could convert to a 4mA to 20mA signal, but you'd need extra electronics.

First, when did you get the anemometer? Our return/replace period runs 30 days from purchase.

Assuming you're in that window, this would classify as an at-will return and you'll need to pay the return shipping. Send a note containing a link to this page and your order number to support@adafruit.com. The folks there will help you.
