Powerboost 1000c Inductor

by Spleen21 on Sun Apr 30, 2017 7:02 pm

Hi there,

I'm looking at building a powerboost 1000c into a project i'm messing with at the moment. I've downloaded the eagle schematics and it mentions that you guys are using the TDK VLC5045 6.8uH inductor. Digikey list these inductors as obsolete and i can't seem to find anyone else who is selling them.

Are you still using these inductors when manufacturing the 1000c? Or do you have a new part? Does it alter the rest of the eagle schematic at all?

I guess what i'm asking is, can i please have the part number of the inductor in the 1000c and if you know where i can get some?

Thanks

We buy parts on terms that aren't sensible for the average DIY-er.. MOQs of 1000 or more, and lead times quoted in weeks if not months.

Just find something with comparable specs. IIRC, that one needs to be 6.8uH and rated for about 3A peak current.

These should do:

What about the powerboost 500 basic inductor. I found this one (https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/ ... ND/2465284) but I can't find one with a lower current rating and that is in stock. Will the same inductor work for this 500 basic as in the 1000 basic circuit?
