Charger Doctor reading 2.5V on multiple inputs w/ and w/o ou

Post by swicano »

Hi,

i just got the charger doctor and plugged it into an only usb wall wort to see something charge and it displays the voltage as 2.5V, 0.13 A. while doing this, the case farthest from the input/output area became noticeably warm, even when there is no output connected. i checked on several different usb ports, some on a brand new computer, my old laptop, a couple wall worts, all read ~2.5 V. Is there some reason why the far end would get warm under 0 load ( 0 amps according to itself)?

thanks

It sounds like there might be some kind of internal short circuit.

Do you have anything you can plug into the output side that will let you measure the voltage on the 5v line??

i took apart a USB charge wire and borrowed a DMM, the DMM still measures 5V with and without the charge doctor.

Yeah, something is wonky there.

Send a note containing a link to this thread and your order number to [email protected]. The folks there will get you a replacement Charger Doctor.

I purchased mine a while ago and just used it and it is doing the same only 2.5 V reading.
