Connection to PC

by Cagott5 on Fri Oct 20, 2017 11:29 am

Would like to connect the Adafruit Ultimate GPS Breakout - 66 channel w/10 Hz updates - Version 3 board to a Windows PC via USB. What do we need?
FTDI friend? Anything else, USB cable.

An FTDI Friend and appropriate cable would work

Purchased the FTDI friend and the Ultimate GPS MT3339 V3 connecting wire.

Windows 10 did not ask to install driver and displays a com port 13 in device manage when I plug it in.
in Control panel I Set com port speed to 9600 and it states Information
made sure Set RTS in was unchecked

GPS flashes fast at cold boot then goes to single red flash every 15 seconds.. assume we have link

downloaded the MT3339 PC Tool v1.3 unziped and run.

select com port 13 and set to 9600. When I click open the FTDI Friend Flickering red light is on. but No Data.

FTDI <=> GPS
========================
GND GND
VCC VIN
TX TX
RX RX

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

Hello!
After the correction in the respective wiring, did it work correctly then?

Can you please provide a URL of the MT3339 PC Tool v1.3 software or any other latest software to access the data on PC?

Thanks
