problem with optical finger scanner

Post by Matthew2016 »

I bought a KOOKYE Optical Fingerprint Reader Sensor Module Locks All-in-one For Arduino R3 this is the first time I have tried any thing like this as its my college project. I am using a mega 2560, I have contacted the finger scanner to the board like your video in this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1diFaa5OsFg . The scanner flickers green for second then off and there no other lights showing on the scanner. I then down loaded the library and then done the enrolling and then it say no finger scanner found like in the pictures below.

do you have an UNO? if you are using a Mega try to wire it up with Hardware Serial
https://www.arduino.cc/reference/en/lan ... on/serial/
and post a photo of it with the adafruit sensor!

hi there think I have nearly got it working as it can be seen in the pictures below but cant get the other light to flash when correct finger is scanned and it can be seen that I am getting good verification. I have used to red LEDs as I was thinking the LEDs was the problem

please run the example codes from the arduino library to start, such as Enrolling or Detecting Fingerprint - then you can add more capability
